We're glad to say that CNU is promoting a new initiative focused on Visitability/Access. Early participants recently prioritized activities. Now we're ready to launch our first activity, this list serve focused on visitability (inclusive home design) and disability access in the context of New Urbanism. We hope you'll be active on the list with your ideas, thoughts, questions, commitment. Here's our Mission Statement: "New Urbanism, by emphasizing density, mixed-use development, pedestrian mobility and public transportation, offers an ideal opportunity for people with disabilities and seniors to be an integral part of communities. Homes that permit people with disabilities to visit neighbors, and permit remaining in one's home if disability occurs, are essential. The Visitability and Accessibility Task Force works to make basic access the norm in residential design, focusing especially on housing types not covered by the Fair Housing Amendments Act: single-family detached houses and row houses." Using Visitaccess
To post a message to all the list members, send email to visitaccess@cnunext.org. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to Visitaccess
